This unique inter-program competition is the opportunity for Australasian Green Impact teams to showcase their commitment to sustainability while competing for fantastic prizes!

In 2026, the Cup will run as two separate events in July and August with two of your favourite challenges; the Green Impact Biodiversity Photography Competition and the always popular Threatened Species Bake-off challenge. This year, your team will also have to compelete two (2) additional actions from your toolkit to be eleigible for one of our prizes!

How to Participate:

  • To participate, ensure you (if participating in an individual program) or your team is registered to an Australasian Green Impact toolkit. If your team is already registered, you’re all set—no additional sign-ups needed.
  • Read the criteria for each challenge at the start of each competition period via the action that will appear in your toolkit.
  • Start collecting your evidence!
  • Complete two (2) additional actions from your toolkit that have not already been marked as ‘Done’.
  • Submit the evidence for your challenge and your two toolkit actions by the due date and you’re in the running!

Challenge 1

Biodiversity Photography Challenge - Starts July 1, 2026!

Opens: 1st July, 2026 | Closes: 31st July, 2026.

Capture the richness of life on Earth by participating in the ACTS Green Impact Biodiversity Photography Challenge! This challenge encourages photographers of all skill levels to explore and showcase the variety of species, ecosystems, and natural processes that contribute to our planet’s biodiversity. Your photo could feature:

  • Native plants, animals, or fungi.
  • A unique ecosystem or habitat.
  • Interactions between species (e.g., pollination, predator-prey relationships).
  • Human impact on biodiversity (both positive and negative).

Photos will be evaluated based on creativity, composition, and alignment with the theme by a panel of Green Impact judges. Selected images may be featured on social media and the ACTS website. The winning entry (individual or team) will receive an eco-friendly prize as recognition as well as points in their toolkit.

Challenge 2

Threatened Species Bake Off - Starts August 1, 2026!

Opens: 3rd August, 2026 | Closes: 31st August, 2026

Get creative in the kitchen and help raise awareness of threatened species by participating in the Threatened Species Bake Off Challenge! Inspired by the annual bake off run by Threatened Species Commissioner’s Bake Off, this challenge invites you to create an edible masterpiece featuring a threatened plant, animal from Australia or New Zealand.

Your creation could include:

  • A cake, biscuits, cupcakes, bread.
  • A detailed likeness of a threatened plant or animal.
  • A habitat-themed bake.

Entries will be evaluated based on creativity, presentation, effort, and connection to the theme by a panel of Green Impact judges. Selected entries may be featured on social media and the ACTS website. The winning team (or individual) will receive an eco-friendly prize, recognition for their baking talents, and toolkit points.

Competition rules and conditions

    All teams registered to a 2026 Australasian Green Impact institutional toolkit are eligible to participate in the Green Impact Cup.

  • 2

    A Green Impact team must be registered to their organisation’s toolkit to participate. Please contact us if you need help registering a team.

  • 3

    All active Green Impact teams registered to a current toolkit can participate – no additional registration is required.

  • 4

    Individuals participating in Green Impact as part of a specific individual-focused toolkit, such as Green Impact Express, are eligible to participate in 2026.

    The 2026 Green Impact Cup challenges are run independently of each other.

  • 6

    A panel of judges will determine the winner of each challenge based on the specified criteria for each challenge.

    Any challenges completed outside of the stipulated time frames will not be eligible.

      • Challenge 1: Wednesday 1st July – Friday 31st July
      • Challenge 2: Monday 3rd August – Monday 31st August

    Two additional toolkit actions must also be complete in addition to the Cup Challenge to be eligible. The competition organisers will verify that the winning team’s actions have been completed satisfactorily. The organisers reserve the right to disqualify any actions that have not been completed as per the challenge’s criteria, within the challenge timeframe and/or where sufficient evidence has not been provided.

      • Challenge 1: Monday 10 August, 2026
      • Challenge 2: Monday 7 September 2025

    The team or individual considered by the judges as winners of a challenge will be the recipient of the Green Impact Cup Challenge Prize.
